IHS First Sunday Tours

Location: Heritage House, 303. O’Connor Rd, Irving, Texas 75060
The Irving Heritage Society will resume the First Sunday Tours of the Heritage House on Sunday, March 2. The Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, built in 1912, is located at 303 South O’Connor. Tours are offered 2pm-4pm and admission is free. Mary’s Playhouse in the back garden area is included.
This early Irving home was built as a prairie-style bungalow for C.P. and Virginia Schulze. Its cypress siding, low-hipped roof, large porch and gabled dormer are signature features of the style of early 20th century houses in the area. Mary’s Playhouse was originally built as a chicken coop and was adapted as a playhouse for the young Mary Schulze in the 1920s. Some of the items on display in the playhouse belonged to Mary and her brother Charles.
