The Big Blend:

On Sunday, September 25, the Irving Heritage Society will host The Big Blend: The Hispanic Experience in America, part of the Irving Public Library’s NEA Big Read. A brief general meeting of the Heritage Society will be held at 2pm in Suite 200 of the Irving Arts Center, 3333 North MacArthur and the program will follow. Al Zapanta, President and CEO of the U.S. – Mexico Chamber of Commerce will host a panel of guest speakers including Patricia Alvarado of Irving ISD, Juan Daniel Ramos, 2014 MacArthur high valedictorian and Dr. Christina Salinas of UT Arlington in a conversation about the meeting of Hispanic and Anglo cultures in the United States.
